Faceware Headcams

Faceware’s Head-Mounted Camera (HMC) is designed to provide pristine animator reference and facial capture footage optimized for the Faceware software suite.

Utilizing a single boom mounted camera with LED illumination and rugged helmets and belts, our HMC outputs a standardized video signal for adaptability into any pipeline. The HMC is beneficial to anyone needing to quickly create quality animation from an actor’s true performance.

This camera system is based off feedback from dozens of studios and thousands of hours of production use to provide the ideal balance of function, form, adaptability, and price. The camera is available in NTSC (30 FPS) or PAL (25 fps) formats and has an optional wireless COFDM digital video link add-on. In NTSC format, over 7 million data points are captured per second.

Our HMC has 7 years of development, currently is in its 5th generation, and is available for rental or purchase. The 6th generation HMC was revealed at SIGGRAPH 2012 with helmet, bracing, and wiring upgrades.
